"Me? I'm just here for some relaxation and good lake air..." Kael'in replied in an innocent voice, and continued " You must admit, it isn't every day that us humans see a dragon like you. You peak my curiousity..."

"Boy, don't shorten my patience with lies. You know more than you are revealing. What are you hiding?" he asked keeping an eye on the boy's companion whom he still didn't trust. "And tell me who is your friend there? What is he he doesn't... feel human."

:Very astute... Dar'ian threw in in widely sent Draconian. He knew kael'in wouldn't answer the dragon after that, and it was really unlikely that the dragon could tell that Kael'in understood, considering Kael'in was highly profiecent at controlling his expression and his mind was well shielded. He saw Kael'in shift slightly as he burst in, in normal speech "what are you talking about? As far as i know, I'm human..."

He focused his attention on the companion. But did not loose sight of the one who actually smelled human. "Lies do NOT flatter me. you insult me every time you do and there is something very familiar about what I sense, and your are NOT human, or at least not completely." There where alternatives, but there was just something tugging at his memory and if he dwelled on it too long he may just start making connections.

Kael'in maintained the same expression as before, not letting slip that he understood what had just happened. Behind his layered shields, his mind was reeling. He was truly shocked that the dragon had not picked up that Dar'ian was too a dragon... THis was a joke he couldn't resist, though he hoped it wasn't gonna be one that returned to bite him in the ass. :I thought dragons were supposed to be smart? Aren't we overestimating this one? He can't even tell you're a dragon... He sent via his and Dar'ian's telepathic link. The message had overtones of laughter.
Deciding it was time to say something, he proceeded to put on a show for the dragon's benefit. As if what the dragon had said had just dawned on him, he turned to Dar'ian with a look of surprise, followed by slight fear."Wait... You're not human?" He asked hesitantly and continued "...Umm...What are you?" with something very like fear in his voice.

Bloodwing growled. He hadn't been trying to figure things out before and now it seemed was his chance to show off. He stepped around the boy and swung his face to met the un identified companion. That close was basically point blank and every thing seemed to snap in his mind at once. He knew the scent because he smelled it all the time. And he felt ashamed for having not recognized it.
He growled loud, proud and somewhat angry. This boy had been playing him allowing him to be a fool, and the dragon had been keeping himself secret playing him for a fool. This would not be tolerated. With out a word, to show his rage he inhaled opened his mouth and let out stream of flame engulfing the human-form dragon all with in a second.
If the Boy had been telling the truth he would freak and probably get angry but he doubted that this dragon would be killed but his flame. most dragons had a good level of resistance to fire. He himself was completely immune . But he wanted to get the point across; that he was displeased with this show of complete disrespect

Kael'in watched the dragon inhale... Suddenly, their little joke didn;t seem so funny anymore, but he couldn't very well act in any way other than terrified at this point... They really should have thought through the wisdom of teasing a dragon... :I'm gonna back you up from were I can't get burned or eaten... He sent Dar'ian telepathically.
As the dragon continued inhaling, Kael'in ran to his horse, and jumped on. He was gonna high-tail it outta there before he became a toasty dragon snack. He knew Dar'ian could take care of himself when it came to fire, and he could spellcast while horseback. Star wouldn't let him fall after all, she was far to well trianed to do so... They didn't head to anything in particular, just out of the immediate range of the dragon.

Dar'ian was one the one hand beginning to regret their antagonization of the dragon; but on the other hand, this was getting really interesting. He waited for Kael'in to start running, before he started drawing up his telekinetic powers. He had no intention of attacking, but powered by Kael'in's magic, his telekenisis would be strong enough to reverse the fire back at the dragon. And he wouldn't even have to take his true form. As a last ditch attempt, he asked in Draconian whether he truly wanted a fight. After all, they'd never met before, and there was therefore no gaurantee that they wouldn't both get injured... And then the humans might not be able to resist a weakened target...

"Okay dragon, explain yourself, how long have you been in my domain, and what are you doing traveling with a human? A human that will soon learn that he is lower on the food chain than he first thought." He said ignoring the other questions and submitting his own. This dragon should have known better, and no matter how far that human ran there was no place that was 'safe' from his wrath.

"Not that it's any of your concern, but I've been here for about 100 years. Him? some mage tried to capture my baby sister as a companion, and I'm looking for him. The boy is just a means to an end, as he is also looking for the man... Something about a the mage also poisoning a village... He has an established reputation among humans, and that's useful in hunting a human." He finished in a somewhat annoyed voice. Continuing, he said in a angry voice "He's mine! Don't you dare go after him..."
The dragon was seriously beginning to get on his nerves. He grinned mentally as he thought about what a rude awakening the dragon was in for. A human dragon alliance was very effective, and Kael'in wasn't running away, he was getting into a position to spellcast from a distance that the dragon's firebreathing couldn't reach. He realized Kael'in was rather enjoying this, as a suppressed laugh rang across their link. :wow... you really layed that human's are a means to an end bit on thick... Came through the link, with the undertones of laughter. Dar'ian wasn't getting such a kick out of it though...
