Avaren...The kingdom that seemed to accept the young hired-warrior was such a sight. Ever since he abandoned his home in the winter, he arrived here during the Summer Solstice, merely two days ago. His hair was long enough to hide his pointed ears, but not enough to hide his potential patronage to the nearby merchants.
"Nothing but the finest clothes in Avaren are sold here." one merchant on the left called out, in hopes of attracting him, but to no avail. With a sigh, the boy continued walking, occasionally browsing the stalls of the merchants who had more mysterious and allegedly magical objects. He didn't believe in magic, despite the inner desire to prove it to be true. He just did not know if he should buy anything, or save his earnings for a drink later on. If there was a perk to his new job, it was the great payment for something so simple to him, fight someone or a group and win.

Lily had entered the market for the second time, the first being two days ago when she had first entered the new kingdom of Avaren. It was a kingdom somewhat like her old one, her old home, but also much different. In her old kingdom, the people had another sort of accent, unlike her old English accent she had acquired from her lesson as the princess. They got somewhat hard to understand to her, even though they were speaking the same language. Being shielded from so much in the palace had ruined any chance of having decent street smarts.
She walked through the market in search of buying some food to eat, since she hadn't eaten for at least three days. The only thing that kept her going was water and determination to get as far away from her old home as possible and find a new one. Before she went to find a place to stay, she needed something in her stomach. Many merchants desperately ran in front of her with their items in their hands, wishing for people to buy them. Many other people, the customers, rushed by, disregarding to whether they bumped into people or not.
Lily wasn't used to this. She was so used to people treating her with respect and giving her her personal space. She wasn't upset that people were treating her normal, not upset at all. She just needed to strengthen up, because every time someone had bumped into her shoulders, she'd stumble, trying not to fall. This was one of the many times she wished she could trade in her small, fragile body for a toned one that no one could budge. A big man, very built, rushed in her way, carrying a huge bag with him. He was bumping into everyone in his way. She tried to get to the side so she''d be spared of the tremendous nudge that was going to be given to her if she stayed, but she was in such a tightly packed group, she couldn't move. She was so tiny compared to him, that when his forearm came in contact with her shoulder, she almost sprawled onto the ground, but instead, she was pushed into someone.
"Oh-Oh gosh. I'm so s-sorry. Are you okay, sir?" she asked nervously, biting her lip and brushing his off. She looked up, seeing that he looked young, maybe around her age. She gulped, regaining her balance.

As he perused the many stalls, being sure not to bump into anyone, the boy turned at the sound of someone stumbling. He had no time to react, since someone collided with him and his lip was brushed off by the one who crashed into him. He felt a sharp pain in his torso, apparently due to whoever collided with him struck a serious wound he had sustained a while back. Whether he should be annoyed or afraid was beyond him. His first instinct was to make a harsh comment, but upon hearing her apology, he blinked. Someone was apologizing to him and actually meant it?
What confused him even more was the concern the person seemed to have. "Uh...I...I'm fine." he replied, helping the girl up as he pondered about the situation. The truth was that he found it difficult to breath, but he paid no mind to it. "Are...Are you ok?" he replied with his own question, feeling awkward at this scenario. He wasn't used to anyone being nervous or social, let alone concerned. Perhaps that was the price to be paid for being raised in constant danger.

She gulped, nodding. "I'm fine." Lily said, looking up at him again. "Again, I'm t-terribly sorry." she said to him, taking a step back after realizing she was too close for her comfort. She wasn't that close to him to begin with, but she was secretly afraid. She knew she had never met the young man, and she shouldn't assume one's behavior, but his hair looked terribly like her worst nightmare's hair, her ex-fiance's James Harts hair. She gulped, blinking back the terrible memories she had endured involving the whipping hair, either whipping in reaction to the movement of laughs, or in reaction of the movement caused in his body in mid slap.
She mentally shook herself, gathering her thoughts and returning to reality. She noticed he was short of breath, and she wondered if she had made such a big impact that she knocked the wind out of him, or she had hit a wound. "Y-Your hurt." she said, sensing it. "I don't mean to sound annoying or vain, but I am very good at nursing. I an fix it right up for you." she offered, hoping he would take her offer. She felt like she owed him something after causing him pain.

As he observed the girl, trying to detect any deceit or any signs of hostility, he couldn't help but notice her back away. Strange..He was about to do the same thing. She sure acted strange, that was for sure. However, there was a look in the girl's eyes that he felt some sort of nostalgia towards...a look of sheer pain in one's past...But why was it shown now? He was able to see the look due to seeing it in his own reflection in his sword whenever he fought.
Soon he lost focus and blinked at her offer. A healing offer? Why would someone be willing to heal someone they just met, let alone him? This was way too weird for him to think through. "N-No thanks. But thanks for offering." he replied. He had two reasons for declining this offer. The first was obvious: he didn't think he could trust her. The second was unknown even to him.

Lily looked at him, seeing something familiar in his facial expressions, and in his eyes. They were a beautiful sapphire blue, but tainted with what looked like pain. She blinked and looked away, struck by a sudden curiosity. She ignored it, knowing it would be rude to ask of one's past when she didn't even know their name. He declined her offer, and she wasn't surprised. She took in a deep breath and looked on his arms. She saw a small cut and she took a step toward him.
"I don't think you understand. I can heal it." she said confidently, putting a fragile finger on the wound and it vanished, completely healed. She looked up at him, putting her hands back at her side and taking a small step back.

As the girl approached him, he backed away, only for his arm to be touched and his cut seemed to vanish. "Shar si caer?" was all he could ask, his surprise making him speak in his native tongue. He didn't realize that he spoke elfin due to him understanding it. He soon blushed a little, embarrassed by distrusting her. "Th-Thanks. But I don't wish to trouble you or anything." was all he could say.
He was grateful, but personally, he didn't wish to be healed by some kind of magic....Wait...She used magic? "May...May I ask how you were able to do that?" he questioned curiously. Perhaps magic was real..maybe..no, couldn't have been..could it?

She cocked her head slightly at the language he spoke. She didn't recognize it at all. She shrugged and looked up at him. She saw him blush and she wondered why. Maybe he had a bad past like her. She highly doubted it. There was no way someone like him could be abused by a girl. But she knew something was wrong with him, something disturbed his past for him to act like this.
Lily opened her mouth to argue to help him when he asked her how she healed him. "I-I don't know. I just touch people on their wounds and they heal. But they don't work on myself for some reason." she explained, looking at him. He looked completely surprised, but she didn't blame him. What would she have done if someone had bumped into him and touched her arm and healed a cut? "I don't know how I do it, and I barely have a clue why I can do it, besides my mother being part fairy." she said to him, trying to clear the awkward silence.

Listening to the girl's explanation, he hesitated again, but felt a little relieved. Not a the fact that she was able to heal, but the fact that she mentioned she was part fairy. It made him feel a little more secure about him being elfin, but he figured he'd stick to the topic. "Well..That really is a unique ability." he attempted to compliment her. He just wasn't sure if he should let her heal him though.
That was just a cut earlier, and the wound she was offering to heal would be a lot larger than just a cut. "Erm...Do...Do you think you can heal a large wound?" he asked, somewhat hypothetically since he was still hesitant.

Lily gave a small smile at his compliment. It sounded as if he had never given someone a compliment before, but she kept that observation to herself. "Yeah, I've been told, and I've actually been forced to use it upon others. I used to live in another kingdom, and we were once at war, and I had to heal the wounded warriors." she explained, looking up at him.
He had asked her if she was able to heal large wounds and she smirked, nodding. "So far, I've been able to heal any wound on anyone, as long as they are still breathing and their heart are beating." she said confidently. She looked to her sides and saw another large man coming in her way like the first one that had sent her into the poor boy. She stepped besides the boy for a second until he passed, and quickly returned to her previous position.
