Alone. Scared. Depressed. Lily was all of these as she sat on the shore of the beautiful lake of her new home: Avaran. The simple but pretty white dress surrounded her as she looked over the lake, inhaling a breath in attempt of clearing her mind. She had been thinking of the one question that was carved into her mind: Why couldn't someone me from this nightmare? She wished that her Prince Charming, or at least anyone good, would come with their white horse and just rescue her from her dreaded life, like they did in all the fairy tales. The wind blew softly, but steadily, making her blonde and black hair dance around her as her blue eyes wondered. She looked at the lake again, shaking her head as it reminded her of her current situation: In too deep. She felt like she was drowning in the troubles and fright boiling inside her. She again wished to be rescued as she closed her eyes.

Comming up the road was no prince charming but he was a good person and as he had noticed someone at the lake in the distance he quickly fastened enchanted bracer to his right had. And his noble draconic features where erased and almost instantly replace by the image of a human.
He walked up the hill to the lake. and for the first time saw the young lady for what she was. For a human she was quite beautiful. He wasn't attracted to her but the fact was noted. "Hello, tis a wonderful day to be alive would you not agree?" He asked looking up at the clear sunny sky.

The sudden voice of someone behind her had made her jump. She turned her head to see someone, a man was behind her looking up at the sky. She nodded in agreement of his comment. "It is a beautiful today." she said, giving a small greeting smile to the man before looking up at the clouds. There wasn't many clouds today, only a couple of small, puffy clouds that lingered in the baby blue sky.
"What brings you here on this gorgeous day?" she asked, wondering why someone would be alone and just traveling outside of the kingdom instead of inside it playing sports and spending time with friends outside on the seemingly perfect day.

The paladin Shrugged and walked toward the water pulling an empty water skin from under his cloak which covered most of his armor at the moment. "Mostly water." He said kneeling down and sinking the waterskin into the water and letting it fill up. He pulled the gold Dragon medallion from under his armor and with some minor concentration was able to purify the water in his waterskin.
"Came to this region mostly to see what there was to see, meet new people and learn new things. I'm merely a Paladin seeking adventure and hoping maybe to act on Lor Bahamut's will where needed, and yourself?"

Lily blinked. Being a princess, her father had shielded her from many things, may people. "Padalin? I'm afraid I've never heard of a Padalin. Care to inform me?" she asked quietly, a tad embarrassed. He had to start getting used to meeting new types of people and learning about them. He asked what she was doing here, and she quickly came up with a lie.
"My most of my friends are out of town or busy with their family, so I became bored and wandered here." she said steadily. Lily felt bad for lying. She was taught never to lie because they always caught up to you, but there were some situations where lying was the only way to make it out safe. Her situation fell under that category. "I'm Lily. How may you be?" she asked politely.

Didn't know what a paladin was? Odd but he wasn't ashamed to explain. "A Paladin is a warrior." He said brushing his cloak behind him so it hung like a cape. Now his magnificent red and gold armor was exposed and he looked strong and ready for just about any battle but he also looked noble. "A paladin is a lot like a knight. Where a knight is paid in gold to defend the the life word and honor of a king or noble; a Paladin is recognized for protecting the word and honor of a god. The god I serve Is Bahamut."
Horu could sense that she was lying. But he sensed no malice behind the mistruth so he did not pursue the fallacy "You may call me Horu" He said offering his name.

Lily nodded. "Oh, okay. Thank you very much." she smiled, hiding the embarrassment she felt. That must have been a foolish thing to say, because she felt like she gave him a small hint that she was not form around here, and that she was not of normal peasant and knight ranks. She blinked, staring up at the sun and down at his red and gold armor. It was beautiful, making him look prepared and noble. It reminded her of how the knights at her old home, the palace looked. She blinked again, as if she was blinking the thoughts away. The more she thought about home, the more information about herself she was bound to give.
"Horu...That's a unique name. I have never heard of it." she stated, looking up at him with her crystal blue eyes. They seemed to match the water of the lake perfectly, as her hair seemed to match the sun and her skin matched the wispy clouds.

She had asked about his name, sort of. "Well I'm not from around here so it makes sense that you haven't heard it before. I'm from a village deep in the mountains." He explained thoughtfully. "Your quite beautiful for... being a normal traveler." He had almost said 'for a human' but had quickly corrected himself to imply that a peasant or person of lesser birth didn't really have time or money to take care of their looks. "How does your family fair?"

Lily nodded. She had seen villages in the mountains before, they were very secluded from most of society, therefore, being different. Her old home, her old kingdom, had a lot of its land in the mountains. She recalled traveling there with her father and she had seen many people that had worn different clothes, talked with different accents, some even different languages, and had very different ways of living.
Lily smiled at his comment of her being beautiful. She had gotten that a lot, and she was a little used to it, but she was still flattered when she heard it. "Thank you." she smiled, looking at her fingers that were toying with the grass. He asked about her family and she gave a jagged breath in. "My parents are farmers with very fertile land. We harvest a lot of crops each year. And since my family is so small now, being my parents and I, we have a decent amount of money to spare." she explained. It was a believable lie. She was getting disappointed in herself, lying to the kind man. She wished she didn't have to, but as she was starting to learn, wishes don't come true.
