Society of Spellblades
Academy Guard Recruitment
Avaren's newly established Academy of Magic, an organization formerly based in the late city of Aesir, is now accepting promising new recruits for all branches of magical learning. Notably, the Society of Spellblades is currently accepting and reviewing applications for those wishing to explore this niche art.
Spellblades specialize in combining physical combat with spellweaving and are skilled in the use of deadly force. Applicants must understand that this is an elite military force serving as the Academy's guard and complementing the Army of Avaren. The Society is affiliated with the Army of Avaren for mobilization purposes, however, members ultimately report to Archmage Izlin of the Ruling Council.
-
Applicants must display competence in a wide range of combat arts, including: close- and long-ranged physical weaponry, armor maintenance and use, offensive spellcasting, and defensive spellcasting.
Note that graduation to Spellblade status is not immediate, and proficiency in a variety of physical and magical skills is required.
-
Those interested in joining must submit an application containing a detailed list of skills and proficiencies. Current affiliations, memberships, rank, and status are not considered in the application process. Every accepted applicant will receive an invitation to a practical skill testing session, during which they will demonstrate their abilities before a judging committee. Applicants who pass the testing phase will be inducted into the Society as trainees.
-
Signed,
Lord Muryllis II, Commander of the Society of Spellblades[/i]
(( OOC: Applications are to be PMed to Muryllis (me) for evaluation. There is no set evaluation period. In the event of a rejection, do not expect a response. If you do not receive a response, assume your application was rejected for one of two most likely things: either the character's abilities are not up to par (IC reasoning), or your writing ability caused a brain hemorrhage and landed me in the hospital (OOC reasoning). ))
