There was plenty of chatter and many people. Alys wasn't use to so many people in her lifetime, but an excited buzz lived inside her. It had only been minuted when she entered the city that Alys already had her breath taken away. It was gorgeous here and certainly a place to go. Alys kept close eye on her possessions for she had heard of the clever thieves in cities.
Self-consciously, Alys pushed her long, blonde hair from her face to behind her ears as her emerald eyes scanned the crowd for a kind face. She didn't know where to stay for the night or where she was. People played music, others chatted, and some tried to sell their products from their shops. Alys perused the scene carefully until she made full circle back to where she had been before, silently hoping that someone would reach out to her and take them under her wing, but she doubted it..

As a Lady of the Ruling Court, Tiy made it her business to see what everyone was up to and keep in touch with everybody. One thing she saw important in this Kingdom was hearing what the subjects had to say, and since Tiy was a sociable person from her younger days, she was still able to talk and make friends with most of the people in the kingdom. She was happy that many of them could come to her with concerns or to just chat. She smiled at some friends from the market she knew. It was their day off and she knew that they liked to spend it either in bed or at city square, wondering about and looking at the other shops. They stopped her and the wife gave her a hug. They told her that they were heading out for a vacation for a week and asked if she could check on the shop for them while they were gone. She said she would be delighted and they gave her the keys. She told them to have fun on their trip and then they said their good-byes.
She looked around, tucking in the keys to her messenger bag that hung from one shoulder and across her white blouse that fell to her mid-thighs which she wore over a tan skirt that fell to just her knees. She had a gold belt on to keep the shirt free from snagging on things. She made her way down the street and then she saw someone that sincerely looked new. They had their belongings with them and they seemed to be looking around to try and find help, but did not know who to ask. Tiy smiled at the blond girl and walked over to her. "Hello, I am Lady Tiy... You look a little lost, friend. May I help you?"

Help. Such an unselfish word. Alys had been offered help plenty of times when she seemed lost or struggling with something, but not so upfront. Whatsoever, Alys appreciated and greeted the strange woman with a smile. She was beautiful and seemed to have this aura of kindness, most certainly.
"Yes, help would be pleasant. My name is Alys Clarke.. I just arrived here in the city and I don't know where to stay. I don't know anyone here so I truly appreciate it if you could help direct me somewhere to stay," Alys commented as she pulled her pack more comfortably onto her back and took a small dip to the respected woman.
Lady Tiy had a kind smile and her eyes showed no harm or dishonesty. Surely a woman of high stature, Alys wonder what she was doing out here in the City Squares chatting with the peasants. She immediately then realized that this was how the customs were here and Alys was already beginning to like the city. Some of the destinations Alys had visited were not so kind to peasants or 'lowly folk'. Even though Alys was not a peasant, but of noble blood, she tended to let people take her as she seemed to be to them in their eyes.
Alys shuffled her feet almost nervously as citizens scrambled by busily. Another look around the square and people seemed at peace. These people had ambitions or at least just appreciated the simple things in life. Alys wanted that, but further more she desired to further her education and training as her father taught her as much as he could at home. She peered back to Lady Tiy practically helplessly.

After much travelling and some times of trouble, Ryoma Echizen finally arrived in Avaren. He had travelled days from Japan to get to the Kingdom of Avaren, and finally, he had reached this place. It was much more different than he had imagined it to be. Ryoma looked up under the hood of his travel-worn travelling cloak into the skies. He had reached here while the skies are still bright, and people are bustling about, absorbed in their city-life. Ryoma made his way through the entrance, weaving through the crowds of townsfolk and other random warriors that were making their way in and out of the citadel. Being young is not a plus - he was shorter than all the burly warriors that swept past him. He was even shorter than the common townsfolk.
Ryoma decided to hold himself up high even if he is vertically challenged. He swiped back his hood, allowing his raven black hair to be seen by the public. His golden-brown eyes gleamed in the sunlight, and many people watched him as he passed. He wasn't like the rest of the children in Avaren - he was special. He was trained in martial arts and was deemed by others around him as a 'prodigy'. Ryoma made his way calmly through the crowd, heading towards the town square. Many people were standing around there, talking, trading and exchanging goods. Ryoma looked around him with a blank look on his face, not really caring what the others were doing. He was here in Avaren for a reason.
First, he needed some food. Then he'd need an inn room to rest in for a day before he'd set out to ask about the Academy. Maybe he could find something interesting there. Looking around, he saw many different inns scattered across the town. He wasn't sure which could offer him the best food and the best price - which also meant that he'd need to ask around for advice. Ryoma's golden-brown eyes immediately caught sight of the two women standing just a few feet away from him. One of them was a young lady with blonde hair (who seemingly is getting help from the other woman), and the other was someone who looked like a noble lady.
A woman of high stature... Ryoma thought, his golden-brown eyes fixed on the pretty, tall woman that was talking to the young girl. He slowly made his way over, wondering if it was best to interrupt them at this moment. "Yes, help would be pleasant. My name is Alys Clarke.. I just arrived here in the city and I don't know where to stay. I don't know anyone here so I truly appreciate it if you could help direct me somewhere to stay," The young blonde girl gave a bow to the taller woman as Ryoma approached. He caught her name, and what problem she was encountering. Ryoma smiled to himself.
"I am sorry, I happened to overhear your problem," Ryoma told them, bowing lightly. "I am also a newcomer, and I am currently looking for a place to stay as well." Ryoma raised his head up and smiled, his golden-brown eyes shining under the sunlight. For a 12 year old boy, he was being really bold. People don't usually talk to each other at times like this, unless they're really of age. Children seldom talked to adults. "I am Echizen Ryoma. I am a trained samurai from the country of Japan... at your service." Ryoma curtsied, closing his golden-brown eyes while he did so as a sign of gentleness and respect.

It was then that she felt the child's presence. He was different surely. When she noticed him out the corner of her eyes, yes, he was different from the other folks that lingered around the city square. An interesting character was what had popped into Alys' mind. Who was he? Well, Alys wouldn't have to wonder long as the child made his way towards them. Bold, certainly.
His eyes caught Alys' attention once he approached her and Lady Tiy. Her own emerald eyes poured into his as he introduced himself and bowed. A gentlemen for a such a young age. Alys appreciated and admired his maturity. Therefore, Alys thought the same respect and maturity should be presented to the child. Give respect, you get respect.
"A pleasure. I'm Alys Clarke as you might have overheard as well," Alys mentioned as she smiled kindly as she curtsied to him as well. He was young. Almost a teenager.. The thought of why he was wandering alone ran through Alys' mind but she then assumed that he was more than just a child. It was pity that a child like him might have not had the childhood she had been privileged with.
Alys flashed back to when she was about his age and remember just beginning her training. The memories of Ben and the time she spent with him. The thought of Ben tugged at her heart. Part of the reason she was in the city was because news had reached her eager ears that he was also in the city. However, that had been months ago, he probably was gone by now, but she hoped ever so silently.

Another young man seemed to be listening because he walked over and introduced himself and said that he too needed a play to stay and he was also new to the kingdom. She looked at the young man, who did not even look like a teenager, and nodded to them. She looked at the girl again and smiled brightly to them both. "I have a couple guest rooms at my manor just down the road from the Market place. You are welcome to stay a night there and tomorrow we can find an Inn for you to stay at." she offered to the two new-comers.
(ooc: sorry! I have owed you guys this for a while!)

A wave of relief washed over Alys as Lady Tiy suggested a night in her manor. After months of not having her own room or bed, it sounded so lovely. Some of the inns that Alys had been to, had not had the privacy Alys would have liked, but it was still a place to rest for the night. Alys wondered if it was like her father's manor back home or if it was more elaborate.
"That sounds very pleasant," Annie said with a broad smile. It wasn't often that Alys came across such kind and generous strangers and Alys' intuition buzzed that there was no catch to be found in this offer. How relieving for the offers and compromises she had come across in the past months. Alys grasped her bag more securely and pulled it up over her shoulder again.
