Yawning, Lily looked up at the night sky. It was dark, very dark with tonight only having a few specks of stars visible, and a sliver of the moon. The stars seemed to remind her of a little glitter spread across the sky. It didn’t give off much light, but it was enough for Lily to see what she was doing and manage to climb onto a wall. She smiled softy, the night air was cool and crisp, and the usual scents of dirt and filth that were in it during the day was gone, and the smell of trees and grass filled the air. It was comforting.
Lily yawned, her eyelids feeling as if they were going down involuntarily. They were, and she saw her vision being cut in half, three quarters, and finally all the way. After five minutes of quiet and peaceful half-sleeping, she jerked awake. It wasn’t any noise or anything unusual, at least, she thought, it was just that she didn’t know she was sleeping. “Sleeping on a giant wall it not a smart thing…” she mumbled to herself. She hopped of it and sat against it. The view wasn’t as great, but she could always fall asleep safely.
In her days of being here, she realized about no one came to the City Walls, and the view of the sky was breath taking on top of them. After a couple hours by herself here, she found a spot with a bunch of indents in the wall that she could climb, and she found that that spot had one of the best views of the night sky. From them on, she snuck out here to enjoy the night. She yawned, crossing her arms and her head sinking as she drifted off into sleep.

The dead of night...always the most tranquil time of the day, yet that doesn't mean it couldn't be lethal. Well...it was peaceful in this case, but who knows? Liam walked down the path, back from a late mission he had taken. He was preoccupied with his left arm, which he was wrapping up in some bandage-like cloth.
He knew how Lily was when it came to his habit of getting hurt, and that is why he was being sure he covered it up, as if it never happened. He took out a knife, cutting the loose remainder of the cloth and kept it in his pocket, always being prepared incase it was needed again. He knew he'd need to take a few days off, but he wouldn't know what to do.
Stopping at the city walls, seeing the silhouette of a sleeping person, he sighed silently and sat down, laying back against the wall. He couldn't tell whether or not this person was hostile, a guard, a random civilian. He was even oblivious that it was Lily, but smiled as he gazed up at the stars.
Those celestial lights...Flames that were far from the reach of all on this very world. What did they mean? Were the stars some kind of guardian system, or just random lights. "Stars..." he muttered to himself, getting an idea. He rolled his sleeve over his bandaged arm, making it look like it was good as new.

Lily's head jerked up and her body tensed as she heard someone's voice and she squinted to try and see who it was. "Hello?" she said quietly, rubbing her eyes and blinking. "Oh....Hi Liam." she smirked sleepily as she saw it was Liam. She yawned, straightening herself and stretching her arms in front of her. He rubbed her eyes and looked up at the stars before getting up to climb the wall. "The view's much better up here." she called quietly down to Liam as she was nearing the top. She swung herself onto the top letting her feet dangle of the edge. She looked up once again, and smiled at the better view.
She kicked her legs gently like a little girl would do, and she returned her focus from the stars down to Liam. She wondered what he doing, wondering around late at knight, but then again, he was probably wondering the same thing. She looked at him closer, tilting her head slightly to the side, sensing that something was different. She shrugged it off, thinking it was probably her drowsiness getting to her.

As he inadvertently woke the person next to him up, he flinched, nearly taking his knife out, only to hear Lily speak. "Oh, hello Lily..Sorry I woke you." he apologized, somewhat nervous. Her of all people for him to first meet up with soon after one of his assignments..he would have a lot of trouble hiding his other persona. He then looked at the girl, who was climbing up the large wall.
Blinking, he heard her reason and shrugged before he began to scale the wall after Lily had settled herself. This seemed easy enough, were it not for his wounded arm. He winced a little soon swinging himself up as well to let his feet hang. He looked at Lily once more, blinking. "Ok...I do not fully understand the nature of people outside my home country, but what's with the look?" he asked her. He could tell she knew something was different about him. If she would be honest about why she was giving him that look, he would be honest as to what might cause it.

Lily waved his apology off. "Don't apologize, I shouldn't be sleeping out here anyways." she gave a small smile to him as she watched him climb the wall after her. Her expression went form a weird look to a small frown as she saw him wince. He asked about the look and she giggled a bit. "Well, I noticed something was wrong with you and I was trying to figure that out, and now that I know what it is, I would like you to hand that injured arm of yours over so I can fix it." she gave a smart smile to him, holding her hands out.
"Oh, and before I forget, someone, a secret admirer, has asked me to give this to you...Mr. Death." she said, pulling out the ruby ocarina. "What's with the nickname?" she asked, holding out the instrument and looking from his arm to his face.

Blinking a bit, Liam couldn't help but chuckle a little in embarrassment. He shouldn't have thought he could have deceived Lily, and he willingly gave her his arm. Before anything could happen, she had interjected, mentioning a secret admirer while giving him a ruby ocarina. Blushing, he thought this over. A secret....admirer? he asked himself, but he flinched once Lily mentioned his nickname.
Unable to look at her, hiding a rather humorous facial expression. He took a bit of a breath before sighing, somewhat in disbelief. "Well..I guess I may as well tell you.." he started, keeping the ocarina close to him. Who was this admirer of his? Sighing again, he got his thoughts straight. "It was meant as an insult back home...My home is constantly in a war among it's own people.." he summarized, starting with the basics.
He hated being reminded of this, but he knew he couldn't lie to Lily. "I am, what you might call, a low class piece of trash..I always was brought to the brink of death, even by my own comrades back then. I always managed to get back to my team, which is kind of what earned me my nickname." he finished the summary. He wanted to put that past behind him, but his name came to haunt him.

She frowned when she saw Liam flinch and look away. She listened quietly to his story as she rolled his sleeve up gently, making sure she didn't hurt him. It took her a little while, after all, she already felt bad for making him remember his painful past, she didn't want to hurt him physically too. "Uh...Oh. Okay. I'm sorry." she frowned. She wished she could say she understood, but that'd be a lie, because they were complete opposites. She was one of the highest ranks a person could be, he was one of the lowest, and she was never badly injured, well, only by James, but that was different than him.
"I-I'm sorry, Liam, I should have kept my mouth shut." she said, running her fingers over his arm. When it was done, she looked at him, frowning. She blinked. "I'm really sorry." she said pulling him into a quick and gentle hug. Hugs were her way of trying to make people feel better when they were sad. Sometimes, she wished she could make people's mental pains and emotional pain feel better at a touch instead of only physical ones. She looked down, and sighed. Now he was probably going to think something of her, because any normal person wouldn't have felt bad like she did, only ones that were hurting inside too.

Blinking, he wondered why Lily had been apologizing. He didn't blame her for anything, but soon blinked at her hug. His expression was hilarious, despite his head being over her shoulder, he had the look that said 'What the heck is she doing?'. Blinking once more, he soon heard her apologize again. "You don't need to apologize, you didn't do anything wrong." he replied before looking down at the ruby ocarina.
"May I ask...who is this 'secret admirer'...and...what is an admirer to begin with?" he asked, stating his ignorance about the concept of a secret crush. He figured that Lily would tell him enough for him to understand.

She looked at him, shocked. How could someone not know what a secret admirer was? Well, he had been raised on violence, but still. She shrugged it off and smirked. "A secret admirer is," she began with a joking know-it-all tone. She looked at him and giggled a bit. "Sorry, but a secret admirer is someone who likes you, and by like, I mean, it's like before love, but after friendship. Do you get what I'm saying? But, they like you secretly, and you don't know who they are. And you're going to meet her, what, I think tomorrow evening whether you like it or not." she smiled.
She looked up at the sky again, and smiled softly at the stars before frowning. She quickly looked back down at the ground, making her hair surround her face so Liam wouldn't see the twisted expression she wore. She remembered a lot of bad memories that happened when she looked at the stars, and why she remembered them now rather than before, she did not know. She blinked, drawing a deep breath in, trying to gather herself again.

As Lily explained everything about a secret admirer, Liam blinked again. He understood what a secret admirer was now, but was now curious about who this admirer was. Who could ever feel that way about someone who was paid to fight and kill? Before love and after friendship..well, that ruled Raika out of the bunch. Those two never really got along anyway. The only person who could have been after friendship was Lily, but then she had said they'd head out to meet this admirer the next evening. Who could be this secret admirer? Lily's description couldn't be that accurate, since Liam could think of no one he met who developed a friendship with him. He looked back at Lily, who seemed to be thinking of something. Sighing, he looked down at the magnificent gift he was given. An ocarina..He may as well try out the gift by attempting to play a song. Handling the oddly shaped flute, he brought the mouth piece to his lips and began to blow. The gemstone probably had something to do with affecting it, since the melody emanating from it was unlike any he had whistled or imagined.
