[open to one]
Tiy had found the pressures of the city a little too much lately and she just wanted to get out. So she went to the lake and found herself in a large grassy field on the west side of the lake. It was in the afternoon, where the bugs came to the placid surface of the lake because it was cooling down. Fish would jump for the bugs and the birds would coo their young to sleep. She smiled lightly as she brushed her blond hair out of her face and looked around the field. She saw grasshoppers jumping occasionally and wild flowers grew on the edge of the dark forest. She sat down in the tall grass and ran her hands along the top of the grass, letting it tickle her hands as she did so. It felt refreshing and the good tingles traveled from her hands down her arms and to her core.
Looking around again, she did not see anyone and she clapped her hands once and rubbed her hands together. She would have to practice some of her spells, because some of the spells cast a glow that could only be seen in darker lighting and it was getting there. She muttered some spells and cast them up above her as she laid back in the grass. The cool green light shot up about ten meters in the air and then collapsed on top of her as the effects of the spell wore off. She clapped her hands and then smacked them on the ground beside her with her arms stretched out. She let out soft whisper and a small wild horse, probably still under a year galloped up from the other field. She stood up and hummed gently as she reached out and petted the horses muzzle. She got closer and breathed in the sweet and sour smell of horse hair and smiled as she closed her eyes and continued to hum to the horse as she pet the stallion's neck and mane.

The bolt of green light had attracted more things than just a horse. A Knight, or at least a person who wore the armor of one, had been camping on the fringes of the fields and caught sight of the flash before it faded away. He'd been preparing to turn in for the night, but there was work to be done apparently. Strapping himself into his armor, blackened steel that bore no crest or symbols, the man checked to make sure that his scabbard was securely at his side. Walking into a small cluster of trees, the Knight with the black armor picked up both his shield and lance before mounting his war horse.
It was the shield that only bore a symbol on it: that of a white cross surrounding by it's black backing and in the space of the upper left corner there was the image of a faded crest. It couldn't be recognized at a distance but closer it brought old memories home: memories of when Avaren and Aesir warred against each other. Having mounted his horse, the Knight set off at a brisk trot across the field until he spotted the woman. She was accompanied by a younger stallion, one that would probably fetch a fine price at the market, and he knew that no horse could cast a spell.
No chances could be taken, no time to honorably challenge this foe, because if the Knight allowed the heretic that time he would surely be slain. He had to act swiftly and decisively, so the Knight steadied his lance so it was aimed for the witch and set his steed into a full gallop: its thundering hooves announcing his imminent attack.

Tiy turned as she heard the thonderous clashing of the hooves on the ground and saw a knight in armor racing towards her. She dove out of the way and stood her ground as soon as she got back up on her feet. She turned towards the knight and cast a spell on herself for physical protection. She cast one on her horse as well, but the stallion knew that he was to run and he was headed back to the royal stables. She murmured another spell, ready to cast when she looked at him and waited. "How dare you attack one of the ladies of the court of your kingdom! I suggest you stand down or I shall send for the General!" she shouted at the man still riding his horse round.
It was not normal for her. She had never ran into someone that would actually attack her for her knowledge of magic. Of course... there were still those that were against it. She knew the history and she knew that there were faithfuls and those that did not mind. Of course... she had always felt that she was even more separated than just her knowledge in magic.

((ooc:Well I put in my status change request to Antonio but apparently it needs to go higher so I'll be guest for a little while longer.))
The woman was faster than he had anticipated and she smoothly rolled out his lance's reach. Charging past where she once stood, the Knight tugged sharply on his reins and his horse slowed to a trot as it turned around to face the witch once more. As she had addressed him, the armor-clad foe brought his steed to a stop and rised his lance. This heathen dared to command him? She may be one of the ladies of the court, but she wasn't recognized by this man. For he served a different lord than whoever ruled now in the city, and it was in his name that he swore revenge.
"Avaren, the Kingdom that I once would've given life and limb, no longer exists in my eyes," replied the Knight with anger coursing through his words. "Her armies do not march the lands triumphant but have been tarnished with filth like you. Her banners do not fly with martial pride, but with lack-luster sloth. And what General? I was the General, therefore I answer to none save the rulers of the city...and they are lost to the sands of time. The Avaren that I once knew is of a time past," continued as he shook with rage, "And I'll not stand for upstarts and magic users soiling it's sacred name!"
Digging his spurs into the sides of his horse, the black knight charged again once more as he angled his lance so it aligned with where the woman's innards would be should he hit his target. In the past he'd hadn't been strong enough to cure this infection, but now there was a chance to redeem himself.

(ooc: that's all right - i'll talk to him. Did you post a profile?)
She looked at him as he stopped and listened to what he said. "Avaren exists in the ones that believe it still does. How can you call yourself such a knight if you believe that the kingdom you once defended is gone? If I were in the army I would still defend my kingdom. And I do. The Lords of this land have been gracious enough to appoint me as a Lady in the court. And you cannot kill me. If you succeed, you have the two most powerful mercenaries out for your blood and the kingdom will ban you."
She saw his legs rise as he kicked the sides of the horse and she knew it was time. She yelled a spell, that would knock him from his horse and she cast the bright green light towards him as she ran out of the way.
