Taking in the ranger's words, Viggo contemplated his options briefly before grinning toothily. "You paint a fine picture with your words ranger, but you seem to think that this rumor no longer exists? You mean to tell me that I travelled all this way and what I sought is dead?" The Northerner's blue eyes seemed to sparkle and he talked over to the ranger with that same grin still on his face. Clapping him on the shoulder with his right hand, Viggo smiled and said, "I didn't come all this way for a rumor not to be true, so what I'll do is I'll make it true."
"Two years will have made this new ruler fat with confidence and the fight will be drained out of his soldiers. Vigilence, good rule, and activity will trim the fat from your bones but how can he do this when he does nothing at all? All we have to do is find this new ruler and make him see things our way. I'll not be denied the chance to prove myself and sample the finest this land has to offer once I'm victorious."
"So," continued Viggo with that Devil-may-care grin on his face, "I'll continue my march to the City, and I'll deal with this upstart that you speak of. Care to join me or shall my blade sing a solo?"

The confidence that the noble northerner exhibited was contagious, and Elyan, for the first time in two long years, felt the courage to leave the mountains and return home. Still...it had been two years...and the former King did not know how easily he might have been forgotten. Considering that, the warrior wondered if he should take on a new alias or not...and then, also considering that, whether or not he should just keep silent about his name.
Regardless, Elyan nodded to the other warrior. "Yes. We will go together down to Avaren and see just what has become of my native land." He clapped the other man on the shoulder and smiled. "Let us go quickly, as I daresay this meeting here was fated, and that warlord we encountered was nothing but a delay."

The northerner lowered his visor after the Ranger spoke his piece, and Viggo replied, "Then let us waste no time and be off." And with that, the northerner warrior and the ranger made their way down the mountain pass and towards the city of Avaren, where both of their goals lay amid the swarming masses of hopes and dreams.
ooc: Yeah, really short but I wanted to tie things up.
