Lost in the darkness [OPEN!]

[Nishiko Cloud]

The curious and innocent Nishiko had foolishly wandered off from her parents when they were adventuring beyond the kingdom. The little girl had her wings retracted, so she looked like any normal girl wandering about. She wasn't sure what other people thought of Winged beings, and because of her natural fear and childish shyness, she usually keeps them retracted, unless she is with those she trusts.

Somehow she found herself lost within a dark cavern. She is unsure of how deep she had traveled through. There have been rumors of strange things lurking about in the darkness of these caverns. It's not called Caverns Of The Damned for nothing. But Nishiko knew nothing of it. But she felt a strange chill in the air. Somehow she knew that she was not alone in the darkness. And whatever it was that was here was not friendly.

"I can't see in front of me," she said all teary-eyed. "I don't know where I am going. How am I going to get home? What if something takes me away and deeper into the dark?"
She shut her eyes and tried not to think about it. Suddenly, the locket she wore around her neck started to glow, providing enough light to surround her. This put a smile across Nishiko's face, making her feel hopeful again. Thank You, oh Lord!

Lily gulped, finding herself wondering once again like a little child, but she was paying attention to her surroundings so she was sure to no get lost. She traveled into the caverns and gulped, quickly running out. She found a huge stick and some smaller sticks. She started a fire with the smaller sticks, and with the fire was lit, she lit fire to the big stick. She took the big stick that was lit as a torch into the caverns and wondered about. They were scary, but magnificent. She then started to hear sobs.

"H-Hello?" she called into the darkness. "I'm not going to hurt you, so please show yourself!" she called again in her tinkling voice. She gulped, tempted to turn back around and rush out of the caverns, but something inside her told her to stay. She wondered further to the direction of which she heard the sobs. She saw a glow far away, and she raced toward it. She then saw a little girl, all alone with a glowing necklace around her neck. "Hello there, little girl. Are you alright?" she asked, bending over and putting a hand on her shoulder. What was a little girl doing all alone in the caverns? Was she in trouble?

Nishiko was a little startled by the lady who came in. She bended down and put her hand on her shoulder. Nishiko shivered in fear, but she had a feeling this person wasn't going to hurt her.
"I'm---I'm alright," she replied, wiping away the tears in her eyes. "I---I'm lost. I was, with my parents, and we got seperated. And some how, I ended up here"
Nishiko began to feel cold, as a chilling soft breeze rushed through her.
"I---I just want, to go home...." she weeped. "Can you take me out of here? It's dark and it's scary"
Her big eyes were sparkling and tears constantly leaking down, she then began to quietly cry to herself, full of fear.

Lily frowned at the little girl crying. "Shh, it's okay. I'll get you out of here to find your parents." she assured her, taking her hands gently. "Don't let go, okay?" she told her, turning around to walk out of the cave. She took a look at the little girl again. "So what's your name, sweetie?" she asked, trying to clam to little girl down. She looked like she was six or seven. Pity swept into her stomach for the poor girl. What if we couldn't find her parents? Where would she stay?

She turned down one of the tunnels, 100 percent sure that it was the one that she had came out of to find the girl. She was grateful that she was good a remembering her way.

"Ni-Nishiko," she stuttered, wiping her eyes. "Who are you?"
The curious girl stared up at the lady's face, her hand gripped tightly to hers. The darkness didn't feel so scary now that she was with someone. She was safe now, certain that she'll bring her back to her mommy and daddy. The light in her necklace wouldn't last for long. It was bright for now, surround them with enough light to see, but eventually it would start to dim if they don't get out of there fast enough...

"Nishiko...That's a pretty name. I'm Lily." she smiled. She turned left and then a sudden right, and the smile widened on her face when she saw the sunlight at the end of the cave. "Okay, Nishiko, where did you last see your mommy and daddy?" she asked, squinting at the sunlight.

She looked at the girl again, looking at her hair color and eyes. Obviously one of them had to be brunette or have brown eyes, so that narrowed it down a bit. They also had to be somewhere near here, probably looking for their daughter. "Can you tell me what your mommy and daddy look like?" she asked. She hated that she had to pester the poor little girl with so many questions, but she knew she had to in order to find her parents.

Nishiko held onto Lily's hand tightly as she led her out. The light around her neck was beginning to fade, but it was no matter, for the sunlight was coming up ahead. Lily then asked her where she last saw her parents. Nishiko looked up at her, and said, "I...I can't remember....I don't know this place very well."
She looked down at the ground, feeling a little sad again. But then Lily asked what her parents looked like. Nishiko looked up at Lily with wide curious eyes. It was a simple answer - her dad had brown hair, just like hers, and the same color eyes. And her mother had short hot pink hair, with piercing blue eyes. But Nishiko was afraid to let Lily in on the details of them having wings, she wasn't sure if her parents kept them retracted or if they're flying around in the air.

"Ummm..." she said. "My daddy has brown hair and blue eyes, and it's kinda long, like it's chin length. And my mommy has hot pink hair, and it's cut short, and she is light blue eyes that are piercing. Ohhh...and they have big wings on their back. My daddy's feathers are brown, and my mommy's are black like a black swan."

Lily frowned when Nishiko said she didn't know where she last saw them. She didn't blame her, one, she was a very small child, and two, she was new here, like her. She nodded, understanding looking around. She listened to her description of her parents and she was a little shocked that they had wings. "Their wings must be very pretty." she said smiling down at her.

"Okay, Nishiko, why don't we walk around and if you see something familiar tell me. Maybe that will help us get to where you parents are." Lily said to her, beginning to walk into the forest. She was a little uncomfortable because she didn't know this area very well and she didn't like trees much, but she did know that this was maybe one of the places the poor little girl got separated with her parents.

Lily's smile made little Nishiko perk up and she smiled back up at her. As she followed Lily around, her hand still clenched tightly, she skipped along, looking for any signs of her parents. It wouldn't be too hard to miss them, especially if they did have their wings out. If they didn't, Nishiko would still be able to reconize her parents.

Suddenly, she saw something in the distance. Two figures that appeared very familiar. Could it be them? Her parents? She felt joyful and gasped, and in excitement, she closed her eyes and then outspread her transparent wings. Nishiko jumped in the air, still holding onto Nishiko's hand. She was now floating above the ground. "Come on, Lily, follow me! I think I found them over there!"

She smiled when Nishiko thought she saw her parents. It made her heart leap as she saw them too, two figures on the distance. She looked at Nishiko who had her transparent-like wings spread wide and was floating. She held on to Nishiko's hands as she followed her, beaming. She prayed it was the young girl's parents so that she would be safe and happy. Lily panted slightly while running, still not used to running and jumping since in her old home, the palace, none of hat was permitted for a princess.

They got closer and she grinned at Nishiko's happiness. She was relieved, after her heart almost breaking when she had found her crying in the caverns. It was a horrible scene, finding a cute, sweet little girl crying all alone in a scary place called 'Caverns of the Damned'. Lily looked up at Niishiko's wings, never seeing anything like them. She had seen winged people before, many of them with wings of all sorts of colors, but none transparent.
